Pacific Union "All God's People," June 2, 2023 S7 E11

Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month is observed in the United States during the month of May and recognizes the contributions and influence of Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States. Out of the 218,191 members in the Pacific Union Conference, 9.59% are Asian Americans or Pacific Islanders. The rich culture and gifts they bring to their local churches throughout the union have been a blessing to us all.

A reminder that the monthly Spanish Recorder is available online. That’s monthly! This is a huge undertaking for our Recorder editor, Alberto Valenzuela, but it is one he is passionate about. Since January 2023, the online Spanish Recorder has been posted online. If you go to our website, adventistfaith.com, and go the Pacific Union Recorder page, you can read the online Recorder and Spanish Recorder each month.

Trike-a-thon is Azure Hills Children Center’s annual fundraiser. Children are allowed to ride anything with wheels—they can also walk or run if they choose, since some little ones haven’t learned how to ride yet. This year the Center raised $5,486 toward their goal of $10,000 for a new hallway A/C unit. Students get sponsors (typically family and friends), then ride as many laps around the parking lot as they can. The child with the most laps was a 3-year-old girl who completed 32 laps in total! Way to go, Azure Hills! We are so proud of you!

In Northern California conference, members of the Camino church showed their commitment to the community by hosting a church service and potluck to honor and celebrate first responders from El Dorado County and the Highway 50 corridor. The event included many CAL FIRE personnel, California Highway Patrol, the Sheriff’s Department, and other first responders, who were all invited to attend.
